Rage Review

As the earth prepares for the Apophis asteroid to strike on August 23, 2029, people start to build an ARK deep inside the earth so Scientists and significant people would be frozen in BI-PODS to live through the Aphophis and start to rebuild civilization after it has been destroyed. After the Aphophis reached the earth, the planet suffered a great impact and killed millions of people and destroyed everything,
your bi-pod somehow malfunctions and unfreezes you after the asteroid hits the earth and you find out that you’re the only survivor in the ARK. You step outside to find that the planet is nothing but scraps and the only thing left to be done is rebuild, as you take a couple steps forward from the ARK, you are attacked by a “mutant” from the radiation of the Apophis Asteroid , as you struggle to fight for your life, a unexpected stranger snipes the mutant and makes his way towards you and explains what has happened to the earth and then takes you to a town village where you are set out into the wasteland to complete quests for supplies that they acquire. As you develop your way through the story line, you find yourself fighting mutants and helping other survivors.

Rage has one of the best graphics in a Adventure game in this time period, if I were to to pick which graphics would look better, I would have a hard time comparing Rage to Battlefield 3, but that dosn’t mean it’s completely perfect. As I played through the game, I noticed that if you were to look quickly from right to left, the environment didn’t loading in time so there would be a slight delay on the texture of the game and would make it look it blurry for a second then return to its normal state. Even though there’s only one problem, other then that, the graphics are good.

The sound quality for rage is quite good, the guns do sound realistic as I pull the trigger in the game but the explosions don’t seem as exciting or realistic as guns. The car engine audio also could be better in the fact that I feel as how i’m going top speed sounding like i’m going med speed. other then the explosions and the car engine audio, the guns realistic and so does the characters in the game.

The game play for rage is really quite impressive, it’s a little different from the games that have been released in this time period. The way the world moves around the player and the animations of the game really stand out. what I also love about the game play is that it comes at you in a way of what will be the outcome of the actions that you will do and that you feel as if what will be expected when you enter a “gangs” territory. The game could use Auto-Save instead of saving it every 10 minutes but other then that, the game runs smooth and is also exciting.

Rage does come to be a good game in the end, you can tell how everything runs by the game play, graphics and so on. The story line is very thrilling and just seems fully entertaining. I would say the story line deserves a 8.8 out of 10 because its just very unique and it feels alot like fallout and a little bit of dead space 2. For the graphics, it plays a big role and one thing could lead into a big catastrophic mess. it lacks the fact that it blurs upon camera rotations and it does effect a game’s score but the way the texture looks is amazing, I would scale it a 7.6 out of 10. The sound of the game is very incredible and since it’s a FPS but also a Adventure game, sound is very important and since the guns sound realistic and the characters sound brilliant, I would score that a 8.1 out of 10. For the game play, if something was wrong with the game play then it can lead to a nasty outcome but in Rage, the game is very smooth and it really shows off a good vibe and that’s something I love in games, I would scale game play a 9.5. This is a great game for anyone and If I where to calculate the scores of the game, it would have a perfect, 8.6 as its final score.
