Battlefield 3: Review
Review by Jenson (ChampionArcher77)

From raging battles on the ground to inside a jet roaring across the sky, Battlefield 3 is an experience you will never forget. Rage war in a huge variety of vehicles and an amazing amount of weapons.
Battlefield 3 will take you through Tehran to Paris in an epic journey to save the world from conflict. The game starts off with you as Staff Sergeant Henry “Black” Blackburn hijacking a train and then brings you back to an interrogation room as you recount your adventures of the events coming up to this. Join the Misfit unit as you take on huge assaults, stealth and night missions, and several vehicle missions. Fly as Lt. Jennifer “Colby” Hawkins as the gunner in an F-18 and blast through the terrain as Sergeant Jonathan “Jono” Miller. BF3 also brings in the perspective of a Russian special operative by the name of Dimitri “Dima” Mayakovsky.

Overall, the graphics are amazing, some of the best ever. The Frostbite 2 Engine excels at huge terrains to large, close quarters cities. Get a bird’s eye view of great tree covered hills spanning miles or watch as an RPG flies down a long subway, you can admire the amazing graphics so many ways. However, if you look closely, some spots are lacking in detail but overall everything is great.
The audio is amazing, hearing guns blasting in tightly packed spaces right next to you or the angry roar of jets overheard, the audio submerges you into the experience. The audio only helps the game reach simulator status.

Battlefield 3 plays like a dream. The gameplay is action-packed and the air vehicles allow a
unique perspective of the huge battlefields. Some slow moments are totally made up for by the epic firefights. Mount your machine gun on a destroyed cement wall as a tank blasts away next to you and an attack helicopter unleashes deadly rockets that explode in ferocious fireballs inside the enemy lines. Battlefield 3 allows tactical strategies as you coordinate air and ground vehicles and soldiers to attack specific objectives, show the enemy clearly on your teammate’s screens, and kill or defend squad leaders to reduce the effectiveness of squads. The vehicles and tactics add a new face to FPS and make Battlefield 3 a unique and great experience.

There is only one word to describe the campaign, and that’s amazing. Your BF3 campaign
experience will toss you right into the action, as you recount the events leading up to the present day. The storyline is great, and though I won’t spoil you, each mission builds it up with exciting new features. Also, you can play some missions in the enemies’ perspective, and you fight off the opposing soldiers as the Russian soldier Dimitri with his fellow comrades.
The defining thing about Battlefield 3, and the whole series in general, is the multiplayer. From 1942, Battlefield has got it just about perfect. Battlefield 3 has brought in maps almost three times
larger than the biggest online map of its predecessor, Bad Company 2. The third Battlefield game to be on consoles, DICE has finally brought in the trademark for Battlefield, the jets. Already hugely popular, the jets have a perfect balance between difficulty and effectiveness. Although the controls are rather easy to learn, the main use of the jets is to take the airspace from opposing aircraft. Although I won’t go too in-depth, just know that the jets are awesome. But that’s not all. Ground battles and vehicles make up a huge part of the Battlefield online experience, the rather new Rush mode effectively compacting the huge maps into small, intense areas of battle. The traditional Conquest mode centers the action around a number of flags that dot the map. Entire matches have been decided by the control of a single flag. Now get onto the Battlefield, soldier!
DICE also brought something new to the field. Play in Co-Op mode with a friend or a random
player as you play in missions from the campaign. Face off hordes of enemies and make use of vehicles to wreak havoc and destroy the opponents. Take on stealth missions, all-out combat missions, and vehicle missions and go against the world to top the leaderboards.

Overall Battlefield 3 is one of the greatest games on the market. The campaign is amazing and allows a good overall perspective of the game’s mechanics and gameplay, and the multiplayer never ceases to please and amaze and you fight on several different maps and utilize all kinds of vehicles, from land, air, and sea. The graphics and audio submerges you into the game and once you pick up the controller and start the game, you will find it almost impossible to start.
