Saints Row: The Third, Review

Saints Row 3 Review

As the Saints try to rob a bank, all hell breaks loose as cops surround the building. You watch as people run everywhere with fear, not knowing what will happen to them while you and your friends are fighting to break into the vault. The Saints soon realize they are in for more than they expected. The Saints then attempt to airlift the vault out from the building, but Birk sets off the alarm alerting the Stilwater P.D. and the Saints are incarcerated. As you recover from failing in the attempt of robbing the bank, you are bailed out by an international crime organization called The Syndicate. They also bribe the police to release the Saints leader referred to as, “Boss” so they can negotiate a business plan inside Loren’s jet plane.

The Syndicate’s leader tells the Saints that they will let them live if the Saints give up two-thirds of their revenue in Stilwater. Boss refuses this proposal and a fight breaks out. Upon the ending of the fight, as the Saints reach the city from being airborne, Boss starts to realize how much of the city has become controlled by other “Gang Organizations” and decides to put his foot down and show everyone who’s boss.

The graphics for Saints row 3 are fascinating. The graphics look great and have a lot of great in depth detail. Going top speed on the high-way, passing through all the cars nearly hitting all of them from each turn to avoid them brings out one of the best graphics one could wish. Even thought the graphics are great, it does not mean they are flawless. The graphics for the game does lack long range visual effects. The characters could have been worked on and could use more details just as much of the long range lack in the graphics of Saints Row 3 but other then that, the graphics do look pleasing to anyone who is and isn’t a Saints Row fan.

The sound for Saints Row 3 does give out a positive vibe. As car explosion’s and bombs surrounding you going off, at the same time it feels as if you are the real life Boss fighting gangs for territory and money. compared to Saints Row 2. They did a complete 360 rotation on how the sound changed from Saints Row 2 passing on to Saints Row 3. Saints Row 3 promises great sound for the game but sadly, it is not flawless. The sound will sometimes get delayed for a second through multiple cut scenes. It is not a major issue overall, but it could hamper some peoples’ interest in the game. Beyond that, the sound and the audio are quite enjoyable.

The gameplay for Saints Row 3 is very smooth and also very exciting. From the act of flying jets through the city to driving at high speeds; between fighting off gangs and the police by doing missions, it gives you the ultimate experience for open world games. With that said, there are also some glitches to it. You will experience the same glitch often. A common glitch would be NPC’s having poor navigation to their destination while driving and you having to suffer waiting but other than that, the gameplay is very smooth. It’s not enough to make me feel like the game is a chore to play.

Final Score: 8.7 out of 10
